NYC abandons teachers’ bonuses

As New Jersey, under the spell of a misguided education reform movement, struggles to implement a bonus system, NYC has learned better.

We should begin with an expansion of school time in troubled districts. If students learn X amount of subject matter in 1 hr, it is inevitable that they will learn 1.5X in 90 minutes. To combat the monotony of longer classes, the schools should also offer inter-time for recesses and organized sports.
