Governor Christie’s “education crisis” in New Jersey is a myth although there are considerable deficiencies in urban areas; the districts with large percentage of minorities, children for whom English is not their maternal language, one parent-families, and the poor.

I still believe that it is in those districts where we must begin with longer class periods, longer days, and expanded school years.
