The American press has been overall dismissive of the protesters. Some writers openly ridicule those in Zuccotti park. There is an element of complicity between the media and the authorities.
NYC has failed to offer a few portable toilets to the protesters but has provided abundant police protection to the NYSE, a private company.
Shame on the city administration for that. Give the kids a break.
The fact is that the average American has been disfranchised by the Entente Cordiale of the two dominant political parties and big capital. It is that fact which the protesters, some without articulating it, are making a stand against.
