United States, China, and India have joined forces in opposing the European timeline for a new treaty which would replace the Kyoto Protocol.

The European Union 27 nations have done the most to limit carbon dioxide emissions since 1996 but have said that would not seek more reductions unless there is a new treaty in place. The big tree oppose the idea of a new treaty.
